Walk for Life

This year on Saturday, June 11th, the Family Life Center will host the 2nd Annual Walk for Life! The Walk for Life is a simple way for people of all ages to get involved by actively demonstrating support for the value of human life – and a desire to make a difference in the lives of women, men, and families in our community. By raising funds and walking yourself or sponsoring another walker for the Walk for Life, you are directly helping the ministry of the Family Life Center advance its mission to cultivate a community that values life through the love of Christ.

Questions and Answers:

Are kids welcome to come?

Absolutely!  This is a family friendly event.  We will have several activities for kids to participate in, all free of charge.  We urge you to accompany your little ones for their safety.

What is the cost to participate?

There is no cost to come and walk.  Those that are interested in helping the Family Life Center raise funds can collect donations and pledges from their family and friends.

What do I do with the money once I have collected it?

If your sponsors want to pay by credit card, they can click the Donate button above.  You can bring any cash or checks with you on the day of the Walk, or drop it off to the Family Life Center during open hours.

How do I get a t-shirt?

Any walker who raises $50 or more will receive a t-shirt at the event.  Just put your size of t-shirt on your registration form and we will order you a shirt.  Your donations collected can be turned in the day of the walk.

What time should I arrive at the Walk for Life?

The Walk begins at 10:00 AM, but check-in begins at 9:15 AM.

 

What if  I cannot make it the day of the event?

No worries, you can still participate by being a Virtual Walker! You can still collect funds and then pick a day to walk on your own. We will miss you, but still appreciate your support of the ministry!  You can mail or drop off any pledge forms/payments at 116 E. Auglaize Street Suite B, Wapakoneta, Ohio 45895.

 

How far is the Walk?

Our Walk for Life will be 2 miles around the Wapak track.  It's the most important 2 miles you will ever walk!  Since we are walking around a track, you can take breaks as you need.

 

How do I turn in my cash and check donations?

Please hold on to all of your cash and check donations and bring them with you to the Walk event. You will turn everything in that morning when you check-in at the event. If you are a virtual walker, please mail everything to the the Family Life Center at 116 E. Auglaize Street, Suite B, Wapakoneta, Ohio 45895.

 

Will my donors get a receipt?

Everyone who makes a donation to the Family Life Center AND provides complete, accurate mailing information, will receive a receipt mailed to them after the Walk for Life.

What if it rains?

We walk Rain or Shine! The race director has the right and responsibility to cancel the day’s event in case of extreme weather. Check our Facebook page or website for updates.

How can I raise funds for the Walk for Life?

Here are some ideas for how to raise $500 in 10 days.

□ DAY 1 Sponsor yourself for $50.

□ DAY 2 Ask two family members to sponsor you for $25.

□ DAY 3 Ask five friends to sponsor you for $20.

□ DAY 4 Ask five people from your church to sponsor you for $10.

□ DAY 5 Ask five neighbors to sponsor you for $10.

□ DAY 6 Ask two other family members to sponsor you for $25.

□ DAY 7 Ask your boss or company to sponsor you for $25 or see if your company will match the amount you raise.

□ DAY 8 Ask five social media friends to sponsor you for $20.

□ DAY 9 Ask one business you frequent to sponsor you for $25.

□ DAY 10 You’ve done it! Great job!  Ask a friend to join you at the Walk!
